"It is a privilege to be elected Captain of the Seniors Section in my 25th year as a resident of Aboyne and member of the Golf Club. I hope to continue the hard work of my predecessors over previous years and to ensure the traditions and principles of the section are maintained and enhanced wherever possible.
We are lucky to have a very active and welcoming Seniors section at Aboyne and I encourage everyone to continue taking an active part in the section and in supporting and promoting the Club this coming season. I look forward to catching up with you all on the course and in the clubhouse”
Our section will operate a full programme of events including:-
• Weekly Medal, Stableford and team competitions
• Inter-club matches on a home and away basis against twelve Aberdeenshire golf clubs
• Season long single and pairs knockout match-play competitions
• Season long Ringer competition, a fun variation of a normal eclectic format
• a variety of team games engendering a spirit of camaraderie among the members of the Seniors ’section.

The summer competitions are played on Tuesdays. Tee times are reserved from 8.30 to 10.40 with a couple of additional slots at lunch time and late afternoon. Extra tee times can be added by request if all slots have been taken up.
Book your tee time on the Club on-line booking system (BRS). Entry closes at 5pm on Sunday prior to the competition. The draw is done soon thereafter.
On the day, competitors need to register for the competition by signing in on Howdidido and paying their entry fee in the pro shop. Howdidido is also used for score entry and publishing the results.
Evening tee times for Seniors’ competitions: Two tee times have been reserved throughout the summer to enable evening play on those days. Times will vary slightly to suit daylight hours.
Please be aware that on occasion, Juniors may be teeing off until 17.30. If this is the case, please start play from the 10th tee. The first tee will be reserved appropriately on those days to allow for the Senior’s competition and to ensure smooth completion of the round.
