Our Club

Our course provides a fine test for golfers of all abilities. It presents a rich variety of memorable holes making the most of the natural variations in the terrain which is a mix of rolling parkland with inviting fairways and elevated links-like heathland with tighter targets.

Mature trees and water are in play on many holes. Our superb setting by the Aboyne Loch has splendid views of the Dee valley, ranging from Clachnaben to the distant peak of Lochnagar.

Aboyne Loch is a notable feature lending character and scenic beauty to the course as well as providing a hazard to be avoided on the last hole of the relatively flat outward tree-lined parkland nine. You may be distracted from the shot you face by the visit of an osprey, or the sighting of terns or a heron fishing the shallows of the Loch.

Thereafter, the course changes character to rugged heathland and climbs gently providing magnificent panoramic views over the Aberdeenshire countryside. Golfers are tested by the course's distinctive feature which sees a number of holes with undulating fairways formed around the historic 'rigg and furrows' of medieval farming which add a unique terrain challenge requiring more brains than brawn to play. Lying on free-draining soil, the course enjoys a surprisingly dry micro-climate.

Our clubhouse offers every facility and there are few better places to relax after an enjoyable round of golf. With fine panoramic views from the upstairs lounge and balcony looking onto the course and Royal Deeside. The friendly staff have many a tale from days gone by and a great knowledge of the history of the surrounding area.

Our Director of Golf Mike Kinloch runs a well-stocked shop with golf equipment and clothing for both ladies and gents. Mike offers a full range of teaching and custom fit services as well as the hire of clubs.

We have various Open Competitions throughout the season which are very popular. In addition, the Royal Deeside Golf Classic attracts players from around the world.

We welcome visitors and outings. If you are visiting for the first time please enjoy the memorable experience which awaits.

Corporate memberships are available.
